Rent a carRental terms for vehicles
1. Age. For groups A, B, D driver must be over 23 years old with drivig experience of 3 years; for any other vehicle group, the minimum driver's age must be at or above 25 years.
2. The tariff includes: 19% VAT, airport fees, environmental charges, Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), Theft Protection with excess (TP or TW), third-party liability coverage, unlimited mileage, and breakdown assistance.
3. Payment method. A valid credit card accepted by Autognosis is required for pre-authorization of the renter's liability (based on the amounts specified in the ‘Collision Damage Waiver’ section), as well as for calculating the final rental cost.
4. Driver's licence. A valid driver's licence with a minimum of one year's driving experience is required from the driver.
5. Grace period. At the end of the agreed rental period, Autognosis provides a complimentary grace period of 29 minutes, after which the renter is charged for at least one full day of rental service.
6. Traffic violation fines. All fines resulting from the driver's actions are solely the responsibility of the renter.
7. Insurance. All authorised drivers of vehicles rented from Autognosis are insured against damage caused to the rented car as a result of ignition. Liability coverage for death, injury, and property damage to third parties is also insured. Both coverages are governed by the general terms of the insurance contract concluded with Autognosis' insurer.
- Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) limits the driver's liability in case of damage to the rented car according to the rental agreement terms. Instead of the full cost, the driver typically only bears responsibility for the first part, known as the deductible. This protection extends to all authorised drivers of the rented car. CDW usually does not cover glass, tires, wheels, and the underside of the car.
- Theft Protection with excess (TP or TW) limits the driver's liability for expenses incurred due to theft of the rented car or damage resulting from theft or attempted theft, up to the maximum amount specified in the rental agreement terms. TW does not cover personal belongings.
- On the website, you can choose the FDW insurance package (SCDW — Super CDW), which reduces or eliminates the excess amount, and no credit card will be required from the renter.
- Insurance policies typically do not include additional equipment purchased on-site and personal belongings. Exceptions include accidents caused by off-road driving, refuelling errors, or other damages caused intentionally or negligently.
- No insurance covers damage caused by violation of the rental agreement terms.
- WUG insurance (for tires, chassis, and glass) and damage to tires or glass are included in the FDW insurance package.

10. Car availability. The company reserves the right to provide a car different from the one originally booked, but of equivalent or higher model.
11. Ferry usage restriction. The placement of the car on a ferry is not allowed. Please note that any damage to the car during transit is not covered by insurance.
12. Roadside assistance. Should any issues arise, please contact our roadside assistance service (available 24/7) at +357 95 191 555.
13. Taxes. All rates and fees specified in the terms are subject to V.A.T. tax.
FAQ
How can I book a car?
Fill out the form on the home page. Specify all the necessary parameters, select a suitable car and leave a request. As soon as you submit your request online, we will send a booking confirmation to your email address, then a manager will contact you.
Can I rent multiple cars?
You can rent multiple cars, but when you pick them up at our office, you must have a basic driver for each car. Each driver will sign a rental agreement for a specific car, subject to the basic requirements (a valid driver's licence with more than a year of experience, a credit card in their name etc). When booking online, you can only book one car at a time. Therefore, if you need several cars, you need to create a separate order for each car.
What is your fuel policy when renting a car?
You receive cars with a fully filled tank, which is indicated in the contract. When returning the car, we will compare the fuel level with the one specified in the contract.
Is there a mileage limit when renting a car?
No, there are no such restrictions.
When can I purchase additional services?
Additional services are available to all clients:
— when booking;
— upon agreement with manager
— upon receipt of the car or while using it.
What services and goods can I get in addition to car rental?
On the company's website, you can get any additional services that we offer to our customers:
— registration of the second driver (free of charge on request);
— child car seat (free of charge on request);
— GPS navigator;

When booking, you will see a list of available services and their prices. You can add any of them at your discretion.
Can I rent a GPS navigator?
Yes, this service is free. When booking a car, please indicate if you need a GPS navigator.
Can I rent a child car seat?
Yes, this service is free. We have models for children of all ages. When booking a car, please indicate if you need a child seat and indicate the age of the child.
Can I pick up or drop off a car at the hotel or airport?
Yes, we deliver cars all over the island. When booking, you must indicate the place of receipt and drop off of the car.
Can I register an additional driver?
Yes, you can include up to three additional drivers in your rental agreement. You can do this when booking online or at the company's office upon receipt of the car. All drivers are required to have valid documents.
How can I pay for the booked car?
Payment is made in cash or by bank transfer upon receipt of the car or when making a reservation. We accept VISA, MasterCard and Maestro cards. It is also possible to pay with PayPal.

Can I rent additional accessories?

How long is the minimum rental period?
You can rent a car even for 1 hour, but please note that even if you rent a car for several hours, you will be charged for a full day of rental.

What is the minimum age for drivers who can rent a car?
To rent a car, the driver must be over 23 years old and have a driving experience of more than 3 years for categories A and D. When booking other categories and business class cars, the minimum driver age should be 25 years.
Can I order a specific car model?
Yes, we guarantee the availability of the exact model that you indicated when booking.
Is an international driving licence required to rent a car?
No, a driver's licence from your country of residence will suffice. However, we recommend that in addition to your country's driving licence, you also have an international driving licence.
What documents are required to book a car?
You will need a driver's licence that is valid in your country. If two or three people drive the rental car, you will need to provide a driver's licence for each of them.
What vehicles do you offer?

How do I cancel my booking?
To cancel your booking, log in to “My Bookings” and click “Cancel”. If you cancel a booking before the тo-refund period, your prepayment will be fully refunded.
How do I modify my booking before rental has started?
Contact us directly by emailing info@autognosis.cy or calling 357 26101030. We will evaluate your request, check if the changes are possible and update your booking. Depending on the nature of the changes, additional cost may occur. Amendments can take up to 24 hours to be processed.
How can I find out what fuel the rented car runs on?
The fuel type of the car will be specified in the rental agreement. If you cannot find this information, our manager or employees of any gas station will help you. You can also contact our customer service and roadside assistance by calling +357 26101030 or emailing info@autognosis.cy. Greek gas stations have unleaded petrol 95 and 98. If you make a mistake with the choice of fuel and the car does not start, contact our customer service and roadside assistance immediately.
What documents are required to get a car?
Upon receipt of the car, you must provide:
— a valid passport or identity card;
— driver’s licence.
Where can I get a map of the island?
Our agent will give you a map of the island when you return the car. If you have any questions about the route, we will be happy to advise you on how to get to the sights of the island.
With what level of fuel should I return the car?
With the same one as you received the car. Upon delivery of the car, our agent will mark in the contract the fuel level at which the vehicle will be delivered. When you return the car, we will compare the fuel level with that specified in the contract.
In what language will my rental agreement be drawn up?
It will be drawn up in two languages: English and Polish or Russian.
How can I pay for the booked car?
We accept VISA, MasterCard and Maestro cards. It is also possible to pay with PayPal.
How will I receive the booked car?
You will be met by our agent at the pick-up point of your choice wearing a T-shirt with the company logo.
What should I do if the car does not start?
If the vehicle has a manual transmission, make sure all doors are closed and depress the clutch pedal while turning the key. If your vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission, place the shift lever in N and depress the brake pedal while turning the key. If after following the above steps you still cannot start your vehicle, please contact our customer service and roadside assistance immediately.
Who can drive a rental car?
Only parties specified in the rental agreement as primary or secondary drivers. If you want to add a driver during the rental period, you need to contact us to include this person in your contract. The newly added driver will also be required to show their valid driver's licence. Remember that insurance will not work if there was an accident involving an unregistered driver.
Can I register an additional driver?
Yes, you can include up to three additional drivers in your rental agreement. You can do this when booking online or at the company's office upon receipt of the car. All drivers are required to present valid documents.
What should I do if I have lost or broken my car, or if my car keys have been stolen?
Contact our customer service and roadside assistance immediately and we will tell you how to proceed.
Can I change the car return time?
You can only return the car during the hours specified in the contract. The car must be left at a predetermined place and at the appointed time. If you want to extend the rental agreement, you must contact us at least one day before the expiration of the rental period.
Can a driver consume a certain amount of alcohol?
Drivers are strictly prohibited from drinking alcohol. The legal blood alcohol level for driving is 0.00 ppm.
What should I do in case of an accident?
If there are casualties in the accident, call an ambulance at 166 and the police at 100. You also need to let us know at +357 26101030. The call centre is open 24/7. Our agent will immediately go to the scene. We offer 24 hour support so you can contact us for any assistance.
In the event of an accident resulting in bodily injury, the local police must be notified immediately. Police officers go to the scene to inspect the scene and obtain evidence. The driver must complete and submit the appropriate form requested by local or state authorities. Be prepared to provide your contact phone number, vehicle registration number and the city where you are located.

How can I extend the rental period?
If you have already rented a car and want to extend the rental period, you need to contact us to sign a new rental agreement.
